The Players Championship Fantasy Predictions and Expert Golf Picks
The Players Championship will be held March 11-14 at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. That means it’s time to pick your best DraftKings fantasy golf lineup. Fortunately, our fantasy golf experts are always ready to help.
Here’s what our Best Players Championship lineup looks like in this week’s golfers predictions:
Dustin Johnson ($11,200)
Not only is the DJ the best player in the world right now; he’s also the Pete Dye ringtone, a recurring theme this week. In his last four players, Johnson has shown increasing comfort, finishing T28-T12-T17-T5; it’s only a matter of time before a win here. WGC-Workday’s T54 has 11 consecutive T12s or better, but this is a blip and not a sign of any slippage. In his stats, only his putt is holding him back, but he’s shown to be able to overcome awkward putts better than anyone.

Adam Scott ($8,100)
Scott’s Sawgrass resume makes him an attractive trade this week. The 2004 PLAYERS champion has four consecutive top-12 finishes at the event, and he’s posted his best SG: Total in the last five events. His numbers don’t look like much this season, but he hasn’t missed the cut since the coronavirus restart, finishing eighth with 11 in a row. His putter, the long Achilles heel, has risen above average.
Jason Day ($8,000)
As recently as February 2017, the No. 1 player in the world, Day dropped to the low 63rd due to injury and poor play, but he has already started a long and arduous climb, posting several T7s this season . He also happens to be a player who won in 2016, T5 in 2018 and T8 in 2019. Pete Dye’s design, a source of annoyance for some, fits Day’s eyes just right, and Sawgrass could hasten the J-Day comeback.
Tommy Fleetwood ($7,900)
Since Fleetwood’s surprise stint as host at the U.S. Open, he’s played some sneaky golf, though most of it has been global and invisible to U.S. audiences. He has seven top 20 finishes in that span, including last weekend’s T10 at Arnold Palmer Course, which would have been much better had it not been for a final-round 77 in windy conditions. His combination of greens skills — he ranks 17th in SG: Around-the-Green — makes him a valuable player at Sawgrass.
Sergio Garcia ($7,500)
The 2008 PLAYERS Champion is a cutter at TPC Sawgrass – he has weekend results in his last 16 trips to Ponte Vedra and five top 8s in addition to his ’08 win, Including T8-3-T2 from 2013-15. Sergio dribbled beautifully and finished second in SG: Off-the-Tee and 17th in SG: Tee-to-Green. Aside from his victory at Sanderson, his putting has been a train wreck this year, but he’s comfortable enough on the Bermuda course in Sawgrass to expect better performances.
Ian Poulter ($7,100)
Poulter’s recent form is nothing to write home about — his last top-10 finish was at the BMW PGA on the European Tour in October — but his last six cuts were at TPC Sawgrass in 2017. The overall grade is T2. Pete Dye’s small, inaccessible greens make Poults particularly useful at No. 16 this week in SG: Around the Green. This guy can still putt.
