ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith seemed as shocked as the rest of the sports world on Tuesday after learning of Bronny James’ recent hospitalization.

The ESPN personality reappeared this morning after sharing his initial reaction on Twitter first shot To break out of his deeper thoughts.

Most of all, Stephen A. said he was grateful that Bronny seemed to be on the mend Tuesday. But he also takes the time to put things in perspective, as it concerns the entire James family.

“If you know anything about LeBron James, anything, you can say whatever you want, people can criticize … but no one is arguing about what a wonderful, loving father he was and how much he loved his kids. Especially Bronny,” Smith said.

Earlier on the show, Smith admitted that Tuesday’s news left him and others in the sports world “scared to death.”

“When you hear something like this, you can only thank God that there are medical staff there,” Smith said.

According to a statement released by James’ family, Bronny suffered a cardiac arrest during practice on Monday and required hospital treatment. He is now in stable condition.
